UVA Alumna and Former Tennis Star Nominated for 2024 NCAA Woman of the Year
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – A UVA alumna and former tennis star, Natasha Subhash, has been nominated for the 2024 NCAA Woman of the Year award. Subhash, along with Duke softball player Jala Wright, was selected by the ACC as one of two candidates the conference is putting forth for consideration.
During her five years at UVA, Subhash achieved award-winning academic performance and made her mark on the tennis courts. She ranks in the top 10 in program history in several categories, including singles victories, doubles victories, and combined singles and doubles victories.
ACC Commissioner Dr. Jim Phillips praised the nominees, stating, “This year, Natasha and Jala were selected by the membership from an outstanding pool of talented women who embody the highest standards of achievement in collegiate athletics.”
Wright and Subhash will be submitted alongside other conference nominees in the NCAA’s first division. Ten names will be chosen from each division, and three finalists will be selected from those 30. The winner will be announced at the 2025 NCAA Convention next year.
