CHARLOTTE – The NASCAR Hall of Fame debuted an exhibit Aug. 7 that highlights the history of Hendrick Motorsports.
Six cars, six 80-inch video monitors, more than 75 artifacts and 160 photographs comprise “Hendrick Motorsports 40 Years,” presented by NAPA Auto Parts. It will be on display through May 2025.
Rick Hendrick founded the team in 1984. It has grown to become the winningest NASCAR Cup Series organization in history, winning 310 NASCAR Cup Series races and 14 championships (as of July 21, 2024).
Hendrick said it was incredibly humbling to have a NASCAR Hall of Fame exhibit dedicated to the team’s 40th anniversary.
“The NASCAR Hall of Fame represents the pinnacle of our sport,” Hendrick said. “Their team has worked tirelessly to create something truly unique for our fans, and it’s been a privilege for us to be involved in the process.”
The exhibit provides an in-depth look at the race team and the people who built it. Many of the artifacts and photographs highlighting the team’s milestones have never been seen by the public.
“We are honored that (Rick), Linda and so many at Hendrick Motorsports have entrusted us with countless, priceless artifacts over the years and now with the opportunity to help celebrate their legacy and unparalleled success,” said Winston Kelley, executive director of the NASCAR Hall of Fame. “Not only has the team made NASCAR history over the last 40 years with more Cup Series wins than any other team, but its forward-thinking leadership and innovation, along with legendary Hall of Fame drivers, crew chiefs and mechanics, have helped make the sport the international success it has become.”
