GEORGETOWN — Malachi Moreno on Friday grew to become the primary member of Kentucky basketball’s 2025 recruiting class.
Moreno, one of many high gamers within the state of Kentucky within the 2025 cycle, dedicated to UK over his seven different finalists: Arkansas, Indiana, Louisville, Iowa, Ohio State, North Carolina and Notre Dame. He made his announcement Friday morning throughout a ceremony at Nice Crossing Excessive College’s health club.
A 7-footer with presents from practically each distinguished school program within the nation, Moreno determined to remain dwelling and play for coach Mark Pope and the Wildcats; Nice Crossing Excessive is only a stone’s throw from Lexington, which is lower than 15 miles south down I-75.
Moreno is a consensus four-star prospect, garnering that ranking from the 4 main recruiting companies: Rivals, 247Sports, On3 and ESPN. Per the 247Sports Composite, Moreno is the nation’s No. 26 participant within the 2025 class, rating No. 2 amongst facilities. He is the highest total 2025 prospect within the Bluegrass State within the 247Sports Composite rankings.
