BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Former Alabama football long snapper Carson Tinker has announced his retirement from the NFL.
Tinker announced his retirement on X Sunday afternoon, August 11, 2024.
Tinker was a member of the 2009 National Championship team and was the starting long snapper for the 2011 and 2012 national championship teams.
During his career in the NFL, Tinker played for the Jacksonville Jaguars for four seasons before suffering a season ending injury during fall camp ahead of the 2017 NFL season.
After missing the 2017 season, he returned for one more season with the Jaguars before playing for Vegas and Tampa during the 2021 season, Seattle in the 2022 season, and 4 games for the LA Rams in the 2023 season.
You may remember Tinker when you think of April 27, 2011, because his life – among so many others – was impacted that day. He suffered injuries in the storm and his girlfriend Ashley Harrison lost her life.
