Danny Nix is synonymous with basketball in Burkburnett.
Perpetually a legend in his hometown, Nix will now be enshrined into the Texas Excessive Faculty Basketball Corridor of Fame as a member of the Class of 2025.
Nix and former Archer Metropolis standout Darryn Shearmire had been elected to the corridor of fame Wednesday together with six different inductees. Becoming a member of Nix as coaches are Tommy Aldridge (Longview), Pamela Crawford (Crosby, Clear Brook, Clear Springs) and Stan Leech (Yorktown, Boerne, Boerne Champion).

Danny Nix’s Corridor of Fame resume
Nix is a 1973 Burk grad and commenced his teaching profession at his alma mater in 1978. He spent 43 years teaching at Burk, together with 40 as head basketball coach and 26 as athletic director.
Nix compiled a report of 866-406, profitable 49 postseason video games. The Bulldogs gained 19 district titles and made 11 regional tournaments in his tenure. He led the Bulldogs to the state event in 2008 and 2011, falling within the championship sport every time.
Nix ranks thirty fourth nationally in all-time wins at one college and has the third most wins at one highschool in UIL historical past.
Nix retired in 2022. The principle gymnasium at Burkburnett Excessive Faculty has been renamed Danny Nix Gymnasium.
Darryn Shearmire’s Corridor of Fame resume
