MASON, Ohio − The Cincinnati Open, formerly called the Western & Southern Open, storms into Wednesday’s second-round action with some of the top-ranked ATP and WTA players set to take the court.
Wednesday’s order of play features 40 total matches spread out between two sessions and eight courts.
World No. 1 Iga Swiatek, fresh off of winning a bronze medal for Poland in the Paris Olympics and capturing her third straight French Open title in June, opens the Cincinnati Open against qualifier Varvara Gracheva on Center Court to open the night session.
The ATP No. 1 will play on Center Court Wednesday, too, when top-ranked Jannik Sinner meets 19-year-old American Alex Michelsen during the day session.
Cincinnati native and wild card Peyton Stearns will begin a busy Wednesday in the singles draw against Spain’s Paula Badosa at 11 a.m. in the P&G Grandstand. Later in the day, Stearns and Poland’s Magda Linette will face the tandem of Americans Sofia Kenin and Bethanie Mattek-Sands in the doubles draw on Court 7.

Diana Shnaider sharp in 1st round victory
Coming off a run to the Canadian Open semifinals, which earned her a career-high ranking of No. 20, Diana Shnaider made quick work off first-round opponent Shuai Zhang Wednesday. In just 56 minutes, Shnaider advanced to the Round of 32 with a 6-1, 6-4 win.

Gates at the Lindner Family Tennis Center open at 9:30 a.m. for Wednesday’s day session with the first matches scheduled for 11 a.m. Gates open at 5 p.m. for the night session and matches will begin at 7 p.m.
Matches can be watched live on the Tennis Channel while select matches throughout the tournament will be available to watch live on Amazon Prime, Roku, Samsung+, YouTube TV and Hulu+Live.
