The Bangladesh Cricket Team left for Pakistan on Monday, August 12 ahead of the two-match Test series. Notably, Pakistan will host Bangladesh for two Tests beginning from August 21. Ahead of the series, Bangladesh have left their country four days in advance of their scheduled departure due to the political turmoil in their country.
Upon landing, the team will assemble in Lahore and will start their initial training at the Gaddafi Stadium to acclimatize themselves with the condition. Bangladesh Cricket shared a video of their team’s departure on social media where player could be seen entering the airport.
“Bangladesh’s Team is heading to Pakistan for the #WTC25 clash. The first Test begins on August 21 in Rawalpindi and the second on August 30 in Karachi,” the Bangladesh Cricket posted on X.
The team will further travel to Rawalpindi on August 17 to hold practice sessions from August 18. The first Test of the series will be played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi from August 21. On the other hand, the second Test will begin from August 30 at National Stadium, Karachi.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh have named a pace heavy attack for the series with five seamers in the team. Fast bowler Taskin Ahmed, who last played a Test in June 2023, has made his comeback in whites. Taskin had taken a break from Tests to prioritise his recovery following a shoulder injury.

However, the seamer expressed his desire to play red-ball cricket again and has been included in the squad. Apart from him, wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim who missed the last Test series against Sri Lanka in March has also marked his return.

Meanwhile, Pakistan will start the series as favourites having an upper hand over Bangladesh in their Test history. They have beaten them in 12 matches out of the 13 played between the two teams while the one game ended in a draw.
