Polk County’s girls tennis team steamed past Owen Tuesday to a 9-0 victory in the season-opening match for both squads in Swannanoa.
The Wolverines, returning all six starters from last season’s 11-3 squad, dominated the day’s play, especially in doubles, where Polk teams combined to lose just one game.
The next match currently listed on Polk’s schedule is Sept. 3 at R-S Central, but head coach Tracy Becker said the team is working to add two more matches prior to the start of conference play.
