Week 1 of the NFL preseason schedule is in the books.
From rookies such as the Los Angeles Rams’ Anthony Goodlow to multi-year pros such as Tennessee’s Mason Rudolph, numerous former OSU football players took to the field in the first of three preseason weeks. The exhibition games provide a chance to solidify roles for the 2024 season, which begins on Sept. 5.

How did former OSU football players fare in NFL preseason Week 1?
- Tyron Billy-Johnson, Dallas Cowboys: Billy-Johnson is a wide receiver who played for OSU from 2016-18 before he went undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft. He returned two kickoffs for 70 yards in a 13-12 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
- Elijah Collins, Cincinnati Bengals: Collins is a running back who played for OSU in 2023 before he went undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft. He ran the ball once for 6 yards in a 17-14 loss to Tampa Bay on Saturday, and he also caught two passes for 24 yards on two targets.
- Devin Harper, Cincinnati Bengals: Harper is a linebacker who played for OSU from 2017-21 before he was selected by Dallas in the sixth round (No. 193 overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft. He made four tackles in a 17-14 loss to Tampa Bay on Saturday.
- Tre Flowers, Jacksonville Jaguars: Flowers is a cornerback who played for OSU from 2014-17 before he was selected by Seattle in the fifth round (No. 146 overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft. He made three tackles in a 26-13 win over Kansas City on Saturday.
- Anthony Goodlow, Los Angeles Rams: Goodlow is a defensive end who played for OSU in 2023 before he went undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft. He recorded two tackles and one sack in a 13-12 win over Dallas on Sunday.
- Christian Holmes, New York Giants: Holmes is a cornerback who played for OSU from 2020-21 before he was selected by Washington in the seventh round (No. 240 overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft. He made four tackles in a 14-3 win over Detroit on Thursday.
- Tyler Lacy, Jacksonville Jaguars: Lacy is a defensive end who played for OSU from 2018-22 before he was selected by Jacksonville in the fourth round (No. 130 overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft. He made one tackle and 0.5 sacks in a 26-13 win over Kansas City on Saturday.
- Tay Martin, San Francisco 49ers: Martin is a wide receiver who played for OSU from 2020-21 before he went undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft. He recorded team highs of five catches and 58 receiving yards on seven targets in a 17-13 loss to Tennessee on Saturday.
- Amen Ogbongbemiga, Chicago Bears: Ogbongbemiga is a linebacker who played for OSU from 2016-20 before he went undrafted in the 2021 NFL Draft. He recorded a team-high eight tackles to go along with one sack and one pass deflection in a 33-6 win over Buffalo on Saturday.
- Mason Rudolph, Tennessee Titans: Rudolph is a quarterback who played for OSU from 2014-17 before he was selected by Pittsburgh in the third round (No. 76 overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft. He went 10 for 17 through the air for 126 yards in a 17-13 win over San Francisco on Saturday, and he ran the ball twice for 2 yards.
- Jason Taylor II, Los Angeles Rams: Taylor is a safety who played for OSU from 2018-22 before he was selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the seventh round (No. 234 overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft. He recorded a team-high seven tackles in a 13-12 win over Dallas on Sunday.
- Tylan Wallace, Baltimore Ravens: Wallace is a wide receiver who played for OSU from 2017-20 before he was selected by Baltimore in the fourth round (No. 131 overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft. He caught two passes for 26 yards on two targets in a 16-13 loss to Philadelphia on Friday.
- James Washington, Atlanta Falcons: Washington is a wide receiver who played for OSU from 2014-17 before he was selected by Pittsburgh in the second round (No. 60 overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft. He didn’t haul in his lone target in a 20-13 loss to Miami on Friday.
- Jaylen Warren, Pittsburgh Steelers: Warren is a running back who played for OSU in 2021 before he went undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft. He ran the ball three times for 11 yards in a 20-12 loss to Houston on Friday.
