Can you guys just give me some space here? Some people scream in pillows. Some people squeeze stress balls. Some people exercise. Some people go to therapy. And some people get out their computer and put their thoughts into a blog. Everyone relieves their frustration in different ways, and clearly, if you’ve been on the website on any given day since the end of last November, I’m going through it. So if you want to listen and help me, please do. If you want to be mean and hurt me even more, please don’t. Because I’m not sure how many more of these types of stories I can take….
Justin Fields sister?????? Committing to MICHIGAN? People keep tweeting things about the craziness of politics, wars, etc and wondering “what is happening to this world?” but I’m sitting here wondering the same damn thing about the University I once (still do) loved and the rivalry we once (still do) dominated. In the last few months alone we’ve had our RB coach go there, a recruiting director, one of our best mens basketball players, and now the sister of one of the best QBs to ever come to school at Ohio State.
If I’m being honest with you all, I just don’t understand this news that came out earlier today. It’d be one thing if Michigan women’s basketball was the best in the conference, and Ohio State’s wasn’t even a Top 5 program in the Big 10. But neither of those statements are true. In fact, they’re the exact opposite. Ohio State proved night in and night out last season that they were the premier program in the league, and Michigan…..well I can’t even fit them on the graphic with their 9-9 record.
So why would Jessica Fields even be entertaining their offer? Seems malicious of Michigan to even be recruiting the girl from Georgia. Seems intentional. And I wouldn’t put anything past them up there, but can’t Justin have stepped in and said go literally anywhere else???
You’re going to call me crazy. You’re going to call me annoying. You’re going to call me stupid. I do not care. My stance is that if Ohio State really instilled a hatred of Michigan into the players we’re bringing in from out of state, there’s a 0% chance that any of them would EVER allow a direct relative to go play sports up North. And I guess that’s just the crux of my entire frustration these days. Some people just don’t get it….because they didn’t grow up in it. They try to learn how to hate. We’ve got a coach from New Hampshire teaching quarterbacks from Georgia and Pennsylvania and California how important “The Game” is. And the results have been seen on the field lately. I blame 90% of what has transpired in the last 3 years on Connor Stalions, but the other 10% falls squarely on the fact that Michigan is taking the rivalry more serious than us.
I want to be clear: I am still 100% in on Justin Fields and thank him for his time in Columbus. 2x Offensive Player of the Year in the conference. Back to back playoff appearances. 20-2 as a starter, including 1-0 vs Michigan and would be 2-0 if Harbaugh didn’t wave the white flag and cry covid. He’s one of the greatest to ever do it behind center for the Buckeyes. But this is unfortunately a red mark on an otherwise pretty impressive resume. Sister of the most talented QB to ever wear the Scarlet and Gray is going to Michigan? I’m very saddened to hear that….
